What a blast for all at The Rocket this weekend!

Its been a stellar weekend for The Rocket as it premiered on home soil at the 60th Sydney Film Festival. Audiences have laughed, gasped and cried on the journey with AHLO. What a treat to have the members of the cast; Sitthiphon Disamoe (AHLO), Loungnam Kaosainam (KIA), Thep Phongam (PURPLE), Bunsri Yindi (TAITOK) and Alice Keohavong (MALI) present. It was a trully remarkable moment when the cast came out on stage at the matinee screening, and the audience stood and cheered! A standing ovation for this extraordinary cast and indeed to Kim, Sylvia and all The Rocket cast and crew. This film has bucket loads of heart!

“Great visuals and strong performances… Kim Mordaunt’s engaging film The Rocket, a lush and bruising coming-of-age story… offers a fascinating insight into a country rarely seen on screen.”…….Screen Daily

[wpvideo TaiCKWOG] SEDUCTION IN THE CITY The Birth of Shopping (Essential Media)

Here is a clip from the series I was nominated for a 2012 APRA AGSC Screen Music Award.
I love this scene from the series where Mrs Debt buys a dress. Such cheeky film making.
Huge congrats to Brett Alpin who won the award for his music for The Tiger Dynasty.

Ochre and Ink

Ochre and Ink a great documentary I wrote the music for last year. About the extraordinary story of Xiaoping’s collaboration with Aboriginal artist Johnny Bulunbulun, this film has surprised audiences all over the world with Xiaoping’s honest and sometimes controversial exploration of aboriginal culture and art.

It has earned multiple accolades including special Jury prize at Fifo Tahiti, and Audience award at Aspen Film Festival.
